Life is a journey full of both beautiful experiences and challenging times. It may feel as if life is moving so fast and we are just barely keeping our head above water. The uncertainty of what lies ahead can be hard to accept. When we develop a solid foundation within ourselves and a healthy support network, we are better equipped to manage the inevitable waves of life.
Counseling can help you build insight, identify specific problems, and receive support in addressing them. Shanti is a Sanskrit word which means “peace”.
At my practice, I hope to help you achieve peace within yourself in spite of the weight you may carry from your past, your current stressors, or your fears for the future.
Specific issues counseling can address include: breaking unhealthy patterns, parenting support, stress management, navigating life transitions, self-esteem, exploring cultural identity, grief and loss, and improving relationships.
Clinical conditions treated at Shanti Behavioral Health include the following: Adjustment Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders, Mood Disorders, ADHD, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
A psychological evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of a person’s mental functioning, including their cognitive abilities, thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Purposes include: diagnostic clarification, identifying academic strengths and weaknesses, finding direction for treatment, and gaining insight into psychological factors impacting one’s functioning.
Psychological evaluations are available for children, adolescents, and adults. The length and the cost of the assessment will depend on the complexity of the case.
